Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope
At OPEN M, we believe no one should go hungry. Our Food Services programs offer essential nourishment to families facing food insecurity through a variety of efforts, including emergency food assistance, direct distributions, supplemental programs and hot lunches. Made possible by generous donations, dedicated volunteers and strong partnerships with food banks and grocery stores, these services help ensure that every family has food on the table when they need it most.

Emergency Food Pantry
Mon. - Thurs. 11:30 am - 2 pm
Fri. 9 am - 11 am
The Emergency Food Pantry provides participants with a three-day supply of shelf-stable products and fresh foods. Participants are eligible for food every 31 days. If picking up for someone else, you must have a current proxy on file.

Grab & Go Lunch
Last 2 Weeks of Each Month (Except Nov. & Dec.)

Grab & Go Lunch provides fresh, healthy meals to the community. It is provided in partnership with churches, organizations and community groups who purchase, prepare and serve each meal.
Mountain of Food
Third Friday Each Month
9 - 11 am
A Direct Distribution program of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank hosted by OPEN M open to Summit County and beyond. It is a one-day, bulk distribution of foods such as produce, meat, breads and more. Participants must bring an ID with an address. No referral or pre-registration is required for this program. If picking up for someone else, you must have a current proxy on file.
Senior Supplemental Food Program
Multiple Days Within the 2nd Week of Each Month
In partnership with the state of Ohio and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, the Senior Supplemental Food Program helps improve the health of elderly citizens through supplemental and nutritious food boxes. Participants must meet income guidelines and be pre-registered for the program.
Blessing Box
The Blessing Box is an outdoor pantry box stocked with non-perishable sacked meals for those in need of emergency assistance after-hours when the Emergency Food Pantry is closed.

At OPEN M, we are helping to improve the lives of those in the Greater Akron community facing hunger, but we can’t do it without your help. In 2024, we made $75,750 connections resulting in the distribution of grocery items, meals and personal care items valued at $1,854,147.
