Keep the Wheels Turning

To accomplish our mission, we rely on the generosity of more than 1,200 volunteers a year. Regardless of your skill set or amount of time available, there are opportunities for you to make a difference in the community by volunteering at OPEN M.

We frequently have a need for front desk receptionists, clerical help, and assistance with building and grounds maintenance.

If you are a top-notch planner or organizer, serve on a committee for a specific event or program, such as:

  • 1 Mile “Walking the Talk” event
  • Fire & Ice Celebration
  • Business, church or food advisory committees

Volunteer Application

If you enjoy working with preschoolers, there are many ways to help in the classroom: lead an art project, play, read to the children, or pitch in wherever needed. You can also help prepare lunch, or help clean and maintain our Building Blocks classroom.

Volunteer Application

Food / Pantry

We can use your help sorting, organizing, and distributing items in our pantry. You can also help by cooking, serving, or cleaning up after lunch.

Volunteer Application

Medical Volunteering

If you are a doctor, dentist, nurse, pharmacist, medical/dental assistant, or clerical/front desk helper, lend a hand at our clinic.

Mentorship / Professional Development

If would like to inspire others through mentoring, come work with newly employed clients or help teach class through our Community Works Connection.

Email cwc@openm.org to become a mentor or learn more about teaching a class!

The following opportunities are great ways for groups or organizations to make an impact:

  • Host a food drive
  • Collect non-perishable items
  • Gather school supplies
  • Hold an event where the cost of admission is an item to donate
  • Throw a birthday party where instead of gifts for you, guests bring a donation of food or supplies
  • Plan a short term service project

**Parents and educators, please note: Kids can also get involved! For more information, please call 330-434-0110 x409, email us at EventVolCoord@openm.org.
